Scholarship Description

Dolphin Scholarship Foundation grants are available, on a competitive basis, to high school or college children/stepchildren and spouses of members or former members of the submarine force or those who have served in submarine support activities.

Scholarship Details

  • Annual grants ranging from $1,500 to $4,000
  • For two-year or four-year full-time undergraduate studies, or trade/vocational certification
  • 113 ongoing Dolphin Scholarships and 13 Administered Scholarships
  • 30-40 new scholarships awarded annually

Eligibility Criteria

  • Children and spouses of members of the U.S. Submarine Force
  • Academic proficiency, school and community involvement are key selection criteria
  • Financial need considered after all financial aid has been determined
  • Spouse scholarships available for those pursuing first undergraduate degree or certification

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application with all required documentation
  2. Submit evidence of academic achievement and community involvement
  3. Provide information on financial need and other financial aid received
  4. Spouses should specify their pursuit of a first undergraduate degree or certification

Approximately 30-40 new scholarships are awarded each year. All scholars are selected on the basis of academic proficiency as well as commitment and excellence in school and community activities. Although not a part of the actual selection process, financial need is considered once all financial aid assistance for an applicant has been determined.
