Scholarship Description

Future curators, art historians, museum professionals and artists all come together at the Atlanta University Center Art History + Curatorial Studies Collective. Housed within the Department of Art & Visual Culture at Spelman College, this innovative program aims to shape the future of the art world and position the Atlanta University Center as the leading incubator of African American professionals in these fields. We are cultivating students who will seek knowledge, discover purpose and make change. Whether you’re an incoming first-year student, transfer student or a graduating senior, our art history scholarships support your goals, from day one.

The Art History Scholarship provides financial assistance to students at Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Spelman College who have declared a major in Art History. Additional funding is awarded to students who also minor in the fields of Curatorial Studies, Business, Communications/Marketing, or Technology/Computer Science. Generous scholarship support is provided by the Alice L. Walton Foundation. Eligible Art History majors will be rising sophomores, juniors or seniors who will apply for the Art History Scholarship in the spring semester of their first, sophomore or junior year. Applicants must be students in good standing, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and complete one of the art history courses listed on the provider's site.
