Scholarship Description

Change your world, change your life at B-CU. The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program at B-CU provides scholarship funding for aspiring mathematics teachers. With a tremendous shortage of African American mathematical science teachers throughout the country, you can truly make a difference in a students life, and this scholarship program will help you get there. The scholarship is designed to increase the number of qualified mathematics teachers by partnering with local, State and National organizations committed to preparing teachers and educating children in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Bethune-Cookman University has a partnership with two school districts in Florida (Volusia County and Flagler County) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Volusia and Flagler Counties. The overall goal of the 5-year Robert Noyce Scholarship project at Bethune-Cookman University is to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors to be also certified as teachers of middle grades mathematics (5-9) in high need educational agencies.
