The Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access (GA) Grant provides an award from the State
of Maryland which, when combined with the Federal Pell Grant and the Expected Family
Contribution (EFC), will help cover the cost of full-time study at a Maryland college
or university.

The purpose of the Workforce Shortage Student Assistance Grant Program is to assist
in meeting the State’s need for well-trained and highly-skilled workers in shortage
areas. Students who perform well academically and agree to use their training in
eligible programs as members of Maryland’s workforce may qualify for scholarship
assistance.

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Maryland Community Cancer Scholarship Award
was established to support the financial needs of young adults whose lives have
been impacted by cancer and are seeking higher education.
The Maryland Community Cancer Scholarship Award recognizes the dreams, challenges
and triumphs of young adults affected by cancer. Founded in Columbia, MD in 1997,
the UCF encourages Maryland residents impacted by cancer to pursue higher education.

This scholarship is awarded to Maryland residents based on cumulative GPA and SAT
scores from an applicant’s junior year of high school. Students may also be nominated
for talent in the arts and must appear in person for an audition or portfolio review
before a panel of professional judges. Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship
and National Achievement Scholarship programs will automatically receive the award
if they attend a Maryland institution. The award is $3,000 each year for students
enrolled full-time towards a two year or four year degree. This program is competitive.
Students who are not funded initially will be placed on a waiting list.
