science and economics. He hopes to attend law school upon completion of his undergraduate
studies. Andrew's passion for writing and debate as well as a keen interest in government
sparked his desire to become a lawyer. Andrew's ultimate goal is to have a voice
in public policy: to earnestly seek resolutions to the economic, diplomatic, and
infrastructure concerns facing our nation.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing and watching sports (particularly basketball,
baseball, and golf), running, weight lifting, reading mystery novels, watching "The
Daily Show", debating politics, and hanging out with friends. He also serves on
the executive board of my fraternity, and am actively involved in its day-to-day

Jennifer plans to graduate with a Master’s degree in Human Factors and Applied Cognition
from George Mason University (GMU). She graduated with a major in Biological Basis
of Behavior and a minor in Consumer Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
She is currently working as a research assistant at GMU’s Arch Lab and as an intern
at the Census Bureau’s Usability Lab. She is interested in human-computer interaction,
arts and crafts, as well as animals.

Tai is a returning student; completing his associates degree in business at the
University of Phoenix. In anticipation of completing his associates, he is in the
process of enrolling at ASU to pursue a Bachelor's of Science and Engineering in
Environmental and Civil Engineering. Tai hopes to one day work on projects that
focus on resource conservation, and are environmentally sustainable. He also want
to be a good role model for his 10 month old daughter, and provide for her and her
mother. When he is not focusing on family or school, Tai enjoys reading, writing,

Tara is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Denver studying K-12 Leadership
and Policy Studies. Her dissertation will explore the effects of early childhood
education on the literacy and language acquisition of English language learners
by third grade. Tara teaches elementary English as a Second Language and works as
a Spanish translator/interpreter. She enjoys hiking in the mountains near her home,
reading and traveling. Most of all, she loves to spend time with her family and
friends.

Yvonne is currently am a senior at DePaul University majoring in public policy and
Latino studies with a minor in Spanish. She is dedicated to advancing the financial,
political and social status of low-income communities through research, education,
and activism.
She plans on applying for doctoral programs in sociology to understand the theoretical
and practical explanations as to why some low-income students are academically successful
while others struggle. Yvonne's dedication to understanding poverty is reflected
in her participation in the McNair Scholars Program where she studied how parental
involvement influences the academic performance of low-income Latino students.

and young adults.
She believes that a career in education will allow her the opportunity to make a

with varied health-related topics, including a medical internship where he studied
the projected impact of a retiring baby-boomer population on our nation’s healthcare.
