Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Program

The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship program administered by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Each Palmetto Fellow may receive a scholarship of up to $6,700 annually. Half of the scholarship is awarded in the fall term and half in the spring term, assuming continued eligibility. The scholarship must be applied directly towards the cost of attendance, less any other gift aid received. Palmetto Fellows may be supported for a maximum of eight full-time terms of study toward the first baccalaureate degree at a participating institution in South Carolina.

The Archibald Rutledge Scholarship

The Archibald Rutledge Scholarship Competition is a fine arts scholarship for students attending public school in South Carolina who plan on attending a college or university in South Carolina. Available for high school seniors only. Eligibility criteria:

  • Students must currently be enrolled in twelfth grade in a public school in South Carolina
  • Students must plan to attend a South Carolina college or university
  • Students must be a United States citizen and have attended public school in South Carolina for the past two years

Women Involved in Rural Electrification (WIRE) Scholarship

Women Involved in Rural Electrification (WIRE) awards a scholarship to a woman who graduated from high school or earned her GED at least 10 years ago and has not yet earned a four-year college degree. The woman must be a member/customer of an electric cooperative utility in South Carolina.

The scholarship is designed to help women who are out on their own, working a job, taking care of a family, to have a chance to improve their future through education. This scholarship is awarded based on financial need and personal goals.
