The New Century Scholarship Program
The New Century Scholarship Program was created by the 1999 Utah Legislature to
provide scholarship opportunities to Utah students. Students must complete the requirements
of an associate's degree or the approved math and science curriculum at a Utah System
of Higher Education institution with a 3.0 cumulative GPA by September 1st of the
year their class graduates from a Utah high school. It is important for students,
parents, and counselors to understand the requirements of the scholarship and for
interested students to plan their high school and college curriculum in advance.

The Centennial Scholarship
The Centennial Scholarship is for students who graduate early from high school.
They may be eligible to receive $250.00 for every quarter he/she graduates early,
from their identified regular summer graduation date, to be applied at the Utah
Post-Secondary Institutions identified on the application. Students can to fill
out the application and determine individual eligibility.

The T. H. Bell Incentive Loan Program (TILP)
The T. H. Bell Incentive Loan Program (TILP) offers qualified students accepted
into one of Utah 's teacher preparation program full tuition and fees to complete
their education degree. The monies paid by TILP are treated like a loan to students.
Students who graduate are granted a teaching certificate by the Utah State Office
of Education, and teach in one of Utah 's K-12 elementary, middle or secondary schools
can repay one year's loan by teaching one full academic year. For students who become
certified and teach in hard-to-staff schools, each full year of teaching will be
considered payment for two years of the loan. Colleges and departments of teacher
preparation will give special consideration to students who prepare to teach special
education, math or science. In some cases graduate students who prepare to teach
in these areas will also receive consideration.
