The 10-week program is offered to first-year students attending a New England medical school. Students are selected by physicians and biomedical scientists active in cancer research, who evaluate the students' applications, academic records, and faculty recommendations. Successful candidates assist with ongoing basic research programs at New England institutions.

- Moloney Fellowship: Applicants must be enrolled at Boston University, Harvard or Tufts medical school. The applicant's sponsor must be from Brigham & Women's Hospital, and the project must be completed at Brigham & Women's.
