Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association Leo Bourassa Scholarship

The Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association is offering two scholarships for 2008 to Virginia residents who are attending an accredited Virginia college or university. The purpose of the scholarships is to support and acknowledge students for their academic and personal accomplishments in the field of water resources. Past scholarship award amounts have each been approximately $2,500. The application deadline is May 31. Eligible applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student, or a full-time or part-time graduate student, enrolled in a curriculum related to water resources. Past scholarship recipients are allowed to reapply.

Eligibility
The applicant must:
- Be a student in good standing at any Virginia accredited college or university and a resident of Virginia; and
- Have successfully completed, or will complete by the award date, at least two semesters of undergraduate study; and
- Be a full-time undergraduate, full-time graduate student, or a part-time graduate student enrolled in a curriculum related to water resources including but not limited to: biology, conservation, ecology, engineering, environmental science, geology, hydrology, limnology, stormwater management, water quality, or wildlife studies. Other areas related to water resources may also qualify.
