SWE Golden Gate Section Scholarship
The Golden Gate Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is pleased to announce its High School Scholarship Program. Each year our Section awards scholarships to graduating local high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, or mathematics.
Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible for a SWE-GGS scholarship. Applicants must be:
- Female
- Living or attending school in the boundaries of the Golden Gate Section (includes San Francisco, Marin, Napa, Sonoma, San Mateo counties and parts of Contra Costa and Alameda counties)
- Graduating senior going on to pursue degree at four-year college or university in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physical science
Scholarship applications including support material must be postmarked no later than March 29th. Applications will be judged by a committee of engineers from the Golden Gate Section who represent different fields of engineering. Applications will be evaluated based on academic achievement, references, extracurricular activities, and a personal essay. Quality of the application and student financial needs will also be considered. Please be sure to use the enclosed form as our applications may be revised from previous years. Recipients of SWE-GGS Scholarships will be notified in early May and will receive their awards at our annual scholarship banquet in May.
