Women's Environmental Council

WEC provides a limited number of scholarships for women who are preparing to pursue careers in the environmental field. We offer scholarships to women attending institutes of higher learning in Orange, Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Recipients also receive a complimentary one-year membership in WEC. The number of scholarships and amount awarded varies from year to year depending on our organization's fundraising efforts. Typically, we have awarded five $1,000 scholarships each year.

The Women's Environmental Council Scholarship can be used for any aspect of education, including tuition, books, housing and academic research. WEC accepts applications from female college undergrads (4-year colleges or 2-year community colleges) or graduate students who are actively engaged inthe academic pursuit of a career in the environmental field.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Degrees or studies can include, but are not limited to, architecture, biology, chemistry, ecology, environmental engineering, environmental science, forestry, geology, geography, urban planning, watershed/water issues.
