Iowa United Methodist Foundation Scholarships

The Iowa United Methodist Foundation offers a number of scholarship opportunities to college-bound Iowa Methodists. Below are examples of awards offered through the IUMF:

Westmar Scholarship - This scholarship is made available from a portion of the scholarship money that remained after the closing of Westmar College, an affiliate of the Iowa Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. To honor the memory of those making gifts to Westmar College and the alumni, these funds will be used as an endowment to assist students with their educational needs at United Methodist colleges in Iowa.

Chris and Frances Wagler Scholarship - The Waglers, former directors of the Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa, attended the United Methodist Church there. Chris and Frances Wagler have established a scholarship fund to assist a graduating student from Davis County High School to attend either Iowa Wesleyan College or Iowa State University.

Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship - Annual scholarship awarded to American Indian or other ethnic minority students preparing for a career in nursing, public health and/or related fields at a college or school of nursing within the State of Iowa. Must have a "B" or better scholastic average during high school and/or college up to time of application. Preference to graduates from Iowa High Schools. Financial need considered.

Mother Carrie Scholarship - Annual scholarship award to student who is or will be enrolling in a community college, college or university in study leading to a degree in full time Christian service (preference to pastoral or diaconal ministry). Preference to members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale, Iowa. Financial need considered.
