Houston ISD Council of PTAs

The applicant must be a resident of Houston and enrolled in a Houston ISD school that is in membership of the Houston ISD Council of PTAs. Every senior who is interested and qualifies should be considered for this scholarship. This includes all students enrolled in regular and special academic programs of HISD. Applicants must be of good character with wholesome personality traits and outstanding leadership qualities.

The applicants must have an overall grade point average between 2.5 and 3.5, or 3.5 and 4.5 for Honors and International Baccalaureate. If available, any ACT and or SAT scores will be taken into consideration. A need for financial assistance to further the applicant's education is also a very important consideration. A recipient must be enrolled in a college/university or an accredited school for the Fall semester following graduation. Failure to do so means forfeiture of the scholarship. A scholarship check will be credited in the student's account at the college/university or accredited school of the applicant's choice to be used for tuition, fees, and/or books only.
