Washington HECB Promise Scholarship

The Washington Promise Scholarship provides college scholarships to students in recognition of their academic achievement in high school. Students must come from low- or middle-income families and meet the program’s academic requirements. Students can use the grants at public two- and four-year colleges and universities and accredited independent colleges, universities and career schools in Washington.

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

-Be reported by your Washington public or private high school in the top 15 percent of your graduating class or earn a combined score of at least 1,200 on the SAT or at least 27 on the ACT on your first attempt;
-Have a family income equal to or less than 135 percent of the state median (see chart located at http://www.hecb.wa.gov/Paying/waaidprgm/wps.asp); and
-Enroll at least half-time at an accredited college, university or vocational school in Washington State.
