Shirley A. Wedge National Cheer and Dance Scholarship Fund

The Shirley A. Wedge National Cheer and Dance Scholarship fund has been providing scholarships to deserving cheer and dance athletes since 1988. In that time, we have awarded over $385,000 in college scholarships.

To be eligible for a scholarship, cheerleading and dance athletes must compete at the COA Ultimate National Championship which is held each Easter at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida. Currently, only juniors and seniors in high school are eligible for the scholarships.

$1,000 scholarships are awarded to the first place winners in the following divisions:

* Crowdleader Female Varsity
* Crowdleader Male Varsity
* Cheer Individual Female Varsity
* Cheer Individual Male Varsity
* Dance Soloist Female Varsity
* Dance Soloist Male Varsity

$500 scholarships are awarded to the first place winners in the following divisions:

* Stunt Group Female Varsity
* Coed Parnter Stunt

Athletes must first qualify for the COA Ultimate National Championship by receiving a qualifying score at COA Regional Tournament (held in the fall).
