As a member of Scholarships.com, you could win cash prizes just for helping us spread
the word about our free college scholarship search. All you have to do is enter
up to ten of your friends' names and email addresses. If they join the site, you'll
both be eligible for the $1,000 sweepstakes. The more friends you refer, the more
entries you'll get!
1) ENTRY: Sweepstakes begins on 10/01/2009 and
ends on 12/30/2009. You will be entered once for each student you
refer via the form on our Web site (at www.scholarships.com/tellafriend.aspx) who
fills out and completes a valid User Profile at Scholarships.com. Odds of winning
depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Entries generated by automated
devices are void. All entries become the property of Scholarships.com, LLC. Any
attempt to damage the Scholarships.com web site or undermine the legitimate operation
of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. In the event of such
an attempt being made, Scholarships.com reserves the right to prosecute violators
to the fullest extent allowable by law.
2) PRIZE: One (1) winner of US $ 1,000. All federal, state and
local taxes associated with the receipt or use of the prize are the sole responsibility
of the winner. No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted, except at the discretion
of Scholarships.com If the winner chooses not to accept the prize, an alternate
winner will be selected. If an eligible individual under 18 years of age is selected
as the winner, his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to give authorization
with an electronic affidavit. The prize check will be issued in the winner's name.
3) PRIZE DRAWING: One (1) winner will be selected on or about 01/02/2010
from among those returning users who refer at least one (1) eligible user during
the entry period. An eligible user is here defined as someone referred by the potential
winner via the form at www.scholarships.com/tellafriend.aspx and has created and
completed a valid User Profile on Scholarships.com. A potential winner will be notified
by email and telephone within 3 business days of the drawing date. If Scholarships.com is unable
to contact the potential winner by email or telephone, or if any potential winner fails to respond
to the prize notification within 7 days of issuance of notification or if any potential
winner fails to comply with any one of the requirements, an alternate winner will
be selected through another random drawing. Winners will be e-mailed and required
to fill out an affidavit form of eligibility/publicity and liability releases, and
return said form for Scholarship.com's receipt within 7 days of e-mail notification.
By acceptance of prize, winners consent to the use of their name and place of residence
for promotional purposes, including online announcements, without additional compensation,
except where prohibited by law. Allow 2-3 weeks after verification of winning status
for the receipt of prize by mail.
Scholarships.com reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the sweepstakes
should viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures
or any other causes beyond the control of Scholarships.com compromise the administration,
security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this sweepstakes.
