The Kanika Goodman Scholarship was established in 1997 in memory of Kanika Goodman. Kanika was only 19 years old when she died on May 6, 1997, due to complications from a bone marrow transplant. To qualify for this award, applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be from a single-parent home and plan to enroll in college full-time during the upcoming academic year. Two scholarships will be awarded - one to a Saginaw High School senior, one to a senior from any Saginaw County high school.
