Legacy Awards are available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk or a charter member of a Lodge is eligible to apply. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
Scholarship Details
- Provides $4,000 Legacy Awards scholarships through the Elks National Foundation
- Available to children and grandchildren of qualifying Elks members
- Applications are submitted online only
- Scholarships may be used only at accredited colleges or universities in the United States
- Recipients must complete acts of service with an Elks Lodge during their collegiate career
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a high school senior
- Must be a child, grandchild, step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward of a living Elk member
- The Elk sponsor must remain a dues-paying member in good standing through March 31st
- Applicants may apply for multiple ENF scholarships but may only receive one national award
Application Process
- Confirm that your parent or grandparent meets the Elks membership eligibility requirements
- Create an account and complete the Legacy Awards online scholarship application
- Select the correct sponsoring Elks Lodge, using the parent’s Lodge if both a parent and grandparent are members
- Submit the application online by the published deadline
- Allow time for the Elk sponsor’s membership to be verified through Grand Lodge headquarters
- Watch for application confirmation and scholarship announcements in late April
Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student wins more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Students can accept local and state scholarships, which are separate from the awards at the national level.
