The Terry Traditional Scholarship, or Freshman Scholarship, is a full ride, last dollar scholarship that covers up to eight semesters. It is awarded to Texas high school seniors (including homeschooled students) who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas (deadlines will vary by institution).

- Finalists are selected through a university nomination and interview process
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident who meets Texas residency and in-state tuition requirements
- Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership
- Must show financial need through completion of the FAFSA
- Must have graduated from an accredited Texas high school or homeschool
- Must be admitted as a full-time freshman to a Terry-affiliated university for the fall semester
Application Process
- Apply for admission to a Terry-affiliated public university in Texas
- Complete the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need
- Submit the Terry Scholarship application through your university’s scholarship portal
- Receive a nomination from your university if selected
- Participate in an in-person interview with a Terry Foundation Interview Panel
- Await final decision from the Terry Foundation
Terry Scholarship affiliates at each university review applications and nominate candidates for interviews with the Foundation. All candidates who wish to compete for a Terry Scholarship must meet with a Terry Interview Panel.
